Ola from Cabo, Mexico

Let's face it, it's been a long winter! And no, it's not just me, it's the locals who say so too. With this in mind, Mexico seemed like the perfect destination, to celebrate my.........35TH birthday. Oh my goodness, 35.

We had been to Riveria Maya near Cancuun before, so we decided to go the opposite side of Mexico, to cabo San Luca, unlike Cancuun, which is bushy and lushes, Cabo is desert and Cacti.
On the 1st, my BD, my wonderful husband woke me up at 12am, and gave me a stunning diamond ring. Lucky girl, and 5 hours later, we headed to the airport to catch our flight to Cabo.

When we landed, I smiled as the warm balmy weather greated me, all sunny and hot. Ola Mexico!

Our hotel was amazing, it was absolutely beautiful, and it got even better when we were given a welcome marguerrita. The Hotel Melia Cabo, is a all-inclusive hotel. You get a band around you write when you arrive, and then you do not pay a cent further. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as all drinks, wine, cocktails incl.

Chris and I were soon relaxing next to the pool, soaking up the sun.

The first 2 days we spent chilling on the beach, sipping cocktails and enjoying swimming in the Sea of Cortez.

On the 3rd day, we got adventures and ventured, via local bus, in Cabo San Lucas. Cabo has a big mall on the marina, where there are restaurants, clubs, boutiques and tons of expensive boats.
We booked a cruise on the catamaran for the next day, where we would go snorkelling and have lunch on board.

After frinding a local restaurant, famous for their fresh fish, Chris and I enjoyed a amazing meal, margs and of course, no mexican meal would be complete without the seranading of a mexican band.

On our last day, we joined a great group of people for our cruise and snorkelling trip. We cruised past lovers beach, famous cabo Arch and then into the deep sea. It was amazing to see a big cruise liner docked in the bay, boy did I feel small next to that big ship. We had a wonderful surprise when 2 whales were spotted in front of our boat. We were also lucky to spot some dolphines.

The cruise went via 2 bays, the first where we could snorkell and kayak, and the last only to snorkel. Back on board we enjoyed some lunch and more marguerittas before heading back into the marina. Mexico is really a special and amazing place.

I'll definately be back!

Long awaited update...

The long awaited AND way overdue update.....

What have we been up to? Well, it's been a very longgggggg winter. It feels like it been around forever.

Chris and I went camping equipment shopping a few weeks back, and who would guess, I walked out, no not with a tent, but a new bike. I am sooo excited to go cycling, and managed to get a ride in a few week back. You could feel sprinf in the air, stunning blue sky's and sunny weather....which.... did not last long.

We have had a few snow dumps in the past 2 weeks, the worst being the beginning of this week, on Monday. It started raining and then snowing, which was almost the worst I've seen. The snow was so wet and heavy, it snapped many of the tree branches in our garden, bummer!

I've been travelling extensively over the past few weeks, seeing customers all of the USA. Phoenix,Detroit,Philladelphia.....

This pic was taken at our friends, Fred and Lorraine in Evergreen. This young male deer has become used to Fred and Lorraine and loves hanging around their place.

Chris has also been travelling lately,mainly to New York for meetings, 3 weeks in a row. The first time he went,NY saw a massive snow storm, as you can see the pic below, cars were snowed in and the crews had to work hard to clear the snow away.

But as always, the sun comes out in Colorado. As quickly as the snow arrives, it dissapears with the sunny weather.



Chris and I are off on a much needed break and a birthday get-away for me to MEXICO!! Yay, only 4 more sleeps. This time we are going to Cabo, so look out for an update on our little trip.
